Our whole mission is based on the opportunity we have to change tons of children’s lives through our BJJ in Tamarindo program.
By offering Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Tamarindo we aim to help the communities around the area and improve children lives, helping them to cope with their everyday life!
We asked our heroes how attending to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes in Tamarindo has changed their way to see life and here are their awesome answers…
1. “I Finally Feel I’m Good At Something”. Angie, 8 years old.
This Translates into very simple yet powerful words “ SELF CONFIDENCE ”.
Having the feeling that you are good at something is the most amazing feeling ever because confidence in yourself has an immediate impact on your overall happiness.
Making our heroes grow their self-confidence will lead them to succeed in everything they want to achieve in life because they will be confident enough to face any challenge life puts in front of them.
2. “It Helped Me To Face Life With Bravery” Martha, 12 years old.
This one is all about COURAGE. Many of our Heroes face family/social issues and bullying at their schools or community. Courage is putting your fears behind you, stand up for yourself and be your own hero, because you know you are worth it.
3. “It Taught Me To Set Goals In My Life” Luis, 12 years old.
This one is a direct ticket to success !! We all need to set defined goals in order to achieve success in every area of our life. BJJ helps the kids by improving their concentration, and when they train BJJ they start from zero, setting goals is how they become better and get promoted! This way they train their brain to set a goal, work for it and accomplish it and this applies to guaranteed success inside and outside the mats!
4. “I Feel Stronger” Odalys, 12 years old.
Physical improvement happens when you train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 3 times a week!
It is a tough exercise, this way our heroes improve their health and reduce the risk of developing diseases.
Most of our heroes live a life full of family/social stressful situations causing them anxiety and sadness. By lifting up their endorphins through exercise they have a better outlook on life, they reduce stress levels and feel happier and healthier.
5. “Now I Have Many Friends” Mileidy, 8 years old.
When our heroes meet in the mats they find True Friendship! This has a great impact on a child’s wellbeing. The feeling of not being alone improves their social and emotional development by growing their self-esteem. They learn to train together, to help their partner learn and this creates a forever lasting bond.
Be part of this tangible change we are creating for this kids in Tamarindo, CR!!!
